Today’s device is addressed to all those who love the almost extinct varivolt format and are partial to the three-battery Reuleaux format. A new box mod from the restless lovers of Teslacigs potentiometers – the Invader 2/3 box mod.
The Teslacigs company stands out among other Chinese manufacturers with its unusual devices, sometimes going against the main trends of the vaping market. When other companies try to stuff their devices with as many functions as possible, Tesla releases the simplest mods. It is enough to recall the Tesla Stealth 100W reviewed not so long ago, which was a simple stick with constant voltage without power adjustment. Or the previous Tesla Invader III 240W box mod – a simple varivolt with uncomplicated controls. It is the successor of the third “invader” that our today’s test subject is.
Tesla Invader 2/3 packaging and accessories
The box comes to the buyer in a modest white cardboard box with an image of the red version of the device on the top cover. The main advantages of the device, which the manufacturer emphasizes, are also described here. smok novo vape On one of the side walls you can see the very variability of using two or three batteries, which the name transparently hints at. On the back you can find a list of the kit, a standard advertising description of the device, a sticker with the color of the purchased box mod and a verification code for originality under a scratch-off layer.

The device itself and the replaceable cover in the box are covered with protective films that cover the outer painted surfaces. For the cover for the third battery, there is a separate ribbon for removing the can.
Tesla Invader 2/3 Appearance
Tesla Invader 2/3 is another product with higher output power, released by the Chinese company Teslacigs after the Invader III. Already by the name alone, you can guess that our device will be very similar to the controversial Reuleaux 2/3 in many ways. The vaper can independently choose to use 2 or 3 batteries, and get different power by adjusting the voltage of the potentiometer. Like the product from Wismec, the choice is to use different covers for the battery compartment. The maximum output power in different versions is 240W or 360W. The device is equipped with an LED indicator at the bottom, which allows you to monitor the status of the device. There is not a single screw on the visible parts of the case, the design feels strong and reliable in the hand. The coating is matte, slightly rough to the touch, fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. On the sides of the body there are decorative inserts “under carbon”, a little higher there is a relief pattern, reminiscent of stiffening ribs like some fuel canister.

Tesla Invader 2/3 colors
Tesla Invader box mod 2/3 is available in four colors: red, gray, green and black. Moreover, in all versions the cover is only black, the front part of the case is painted.
The mod connector has both a negative thread and a positive pin with a large contact area made of steel. A small platform protrudes above the case by only a couple of tenths of a millimeter, the atomizers sit almost without a gap, but do not scratch the paint. On the bottom surface there are inscriptions with information about the minimum resistance supported by the Tesla Invader 2/3, and the maximum output power of the device.
The lid system resembles the Reuleaux RX2/3 only externally, compared to the competing solution, there are important design differences. Both lids are inserted into the case along guides, which eliminated unnecessary buttons and latches, the role of locks is performed by spring-loaded contacts in the case. The lid for two batteries is absolutely motionless when moving to the sides, but may have a slight backlash up and down if the batteries have a thick braid (noted on the MXJO). It opens quite tightly, you need to apply significant force to move it. The three-battery one does not have such a problem, it opens much easier and sits monolithically, the lower contact is spring-loaded inside, there is a bright polarity marking. To remove the can, there is a ribbon in the kit with the lid, which is not attached to anything. The box does not work without lids, because the power circuit is closed by them.
Impressions and conclusions
The box mod is made perfectly; there are no complaints about the quality of the case and coating, except for a slightly loose cover on two batteries with some batteries. The disadvantages include the uninformative LED, by its values you can only find out that the battery is discharged or something is wrong, the number of informative messages is very limited. There are some small complaints about the paint: after two weeks of use, the coating began to peel off little by little at the corners, after all, it will not last long. The lack of charging is very disappointing, although this cannot be called a critical minus. And today, the disadvantages include the minimum resistance threshold of 0.1 Ohm, after all, some Chinese boards have already crossed this barrier, and in the case of the limited functionality of the Invader 2/3, a feature with support for very low resistance would be a trump card. Sometimes, at a certain voltage value, the box can pull out a lower resistance, but as a rule, it immediately goes into protection.
I would call the biggest advantage of the Tesla Invader 2/3 its simplicity. You turn the potentiometer and don’t think about anything else. Moreover, if with variwatts when changing the atomizer you need to constantly monitor the set values, then with varivolt there is no such problem. It is enough to set the voltage between II and III to about 3.7V (nominal voltage of the battery), so that this is enough for most windings. After the dripper, you can safely put a cigarette tank and not be afraid that the wick will turn into coal when you press the button. Such a device is quite suitable for beginners, who usually have their eyes pop out of their heads from the number of settings of the electronic mod. This is an excellent and simple solution that the market needs and ordinary vapers who do not want to delve into the wilds of temperature control and other witchcraft. The option with two or three batteries allows you to get either more compact dimensions or greater autonomy. The “relo” format is still quite convenient for everyday use, unlike four-battery monsters. Didn’t like:
No charging
Uninformative indication
Resistance from 0.1 Ohm
Liked:
Build quality
Ease of control
Working time
Choice between 2 or 3 batteries
The device can be safely addressed to those who do not need a screen, a huge number of useless functions, settings and temperature control. But the buyer must have a separate charger.
