In this review, we will study a compact kit to replace standard pod-systems – Unix Kit by Univapo.
The Chinese developer of devices Univapo has been producing products for vaping since 2014, but so far it is not particularly popular. Nevertheless, the brand’s range is periodically replenished with various devices aimed primarily at beginners or simply undemanding users. The hero of our review today belongs to this class. The Unix Kit was released last year, but for some reason it is problematic to find it both in online stores and on the official website of the Univapo company itself. The release will probably take place later, but for now we will consider this interesting kit in detail.
Packaging and equipment of Unix Kit
Unix Kit comes in a box similar to a matchbox, but quite large. The front side displays the product itself, as well as a large plate with a warning about the alleged nicotine contained inside – a standard attribute of modern vape products. new zealand vaping On the sides of the box you can find various codes, including for checking for originality, and there is also a mark about the color of the device inside. The back side contains a list of the delivery set, characteristics and links to the creators’ social networks along with certificates. Under the hinged lid is located the entire available kit and its components.

Unix Kit appearance and functionality
The Unix Kit consists of a self-service tank and a battery pack of the same name. And if the first one in all color solutions has only black color, then the box mod is available in black, red and silver. The BB case is mostly made of aluminum, but in some places, such as the Fire button, there is plastic, and the upper and lower parts, although metal, are not made of aluminum.
Starting to consider the kit, first of all, you should pay attention to the box mod. In our case, the manufacturer carefully applied the Belvaping logo, for which he is very grateful, but the release version will not contain such decoration. On the front panel of the device, it is easy to notice a large Fire button, and in this case it is also a mechanism that regulates the output power by rotating the wheel. The latter has knurling for convenience. Just below the mentioned key is a small OLED display with a diagonal of 0.54 inches.
At the end, despite the obvious budget of the whole set, the manufacturer has placed a modern connector for charging the built-in battery of the USB Type-C format. Thus, the battery capacity can be replenished with a current of up to 1A. Next to the port, there are two screws holding the case, as well as a couple of certificates. On the connector pad, the mentioned screws are duplicated, and the connector itself is a fairly reliable, at first glance, sample with special cuts so that the atomizer does not stick to the mod. The pin inside, of course, is vertically movable thanks to the spring mechanism. The box mod, by the way, can accommodate atomizers with a diameter of up to 18 mm, in other cases, tanks and drippers will have a noticeable overhang.
As for the functionality of the device, it is quite poor here, or one can say that it is simple. So, to turn on the device, a standard five-fold press of the Fire button is allocated, and to adjust the power in the range of 5-16 watts, as mentioned above, a rotating mechanism is provided. The tiny display shows the set power, voltage and duration of the last puff. In addition, when installing the atomizer, the mod automatically selects the recommended power. Other useful features include child protection, which can be activated by holding the power button for five seconds when the device is off, after which the corresponding icon will be displayed. When turned on and with child protection enabled, you can also lock the power setting by pressing Fire three times. Of course, the box mod has all the necessary protections and there are special icons on the screen that are displayed in one case or another.

Impressions and conclusions
As a result, Univapo managed to create, although not the most outstanding or unique product, but quite a good substitute for the already boring pod-systems. Plus, no one forbids using the battery unit with third-party atomizers, thus creating a very compact MTL-bundle. However, as was said in the review, with the diameter of a suitable tank, not everything is so simple. The positive aspects of the box mod, again, include its very modest size, good case materials, a modern charging port and a display with all the necessary information. The power adjustment in the form of a wheel is interesting at first glance, but there is most likely no particular need for such a solution, ordinary buttons would cope with the task of adjusting the wattage. The atomizer can be praised for the presence of a dust cap, as well as for the existing child protection both in the filling cap and in the base. Of course, from the position of a more or less experienced vaper, the Unix Kit is not able to impress with either its autonomy, or flavor transfer, or any other outstanding attributes, they are simply not here. And this is acceptable, because, we repeat, the kit is aimed primarily at novice users, for whom all these vaping values are not yet a priority, but an easy-to-use device is needed to replace cigarettes, and the hero of our today’s review will certainly cope with this task. As for the price, as was said at the very beginning, the kit is not yet on sale, but you should hardly expect some exorbitant price, because the rest of Univapo products are also affordable.
